🌳🌿 Our First Mid-Week Working Bee in a Long Time Was a Success! 🌿🌳

Sorry we don’t have many photos from yesterday — we were simply too busy getting stuck in! 😅💪

We got plenty done at the orchard, including:

🍎 All our deciduous fruit trees have now been pruned, just in time for spring! 🌱
🌿 Mowed and whipper-snipped the orchard area
🍓 Fixed up the strawberry bed and removed all the dead and diseased plants

It was fantastic to bring back a mid-week working bee and see so much progress made. A huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped out! 💚

What a fantastic day at Horseshoe Bend Reserve last Saturday! 💚 We got plenty done and it was great to see so many volunteers getting stuck in. 🧤🌱

📢 Working Bee Update 🌿

Unfortunately, we have made the difficult decision to cancel tomorrow's Working Bee.

As we don't have any committee members available to supervise and run the event, we're unable to safely proceed.

We're always looking for passionate community members to join our committee and help keep events like our working bees running. 🌱 If you'd like to get involved and make a real difference, we'd love to hear from you!

What a wonderful sunny day at our last working bee on Sunday! 🌞

Once again, thanks to our amazing volunteers, we managed to tick everything off our to-do list.

Our possum boxes have arrived, and we’re excited to install them soon and welcome our resident possums into their new homes. 🐾

The three bench seats are currently being sanded and will be oiled, assembled next weekend, and installed in our sensory garden. We also completed plenty of general maintenance, with several garden beds refreshed with new soil and mulch, ready for our spring planting.

One of the highlights of the day was showing some new visitors around the garden and sharing the many benefits of volunteering. It was wonderful to talk about the incredible community we’ve built together and how everyone is welcome to be part of it.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped today. Whether you volunteered for an hour or the whole morning, every contribution makes a real difference. We can’t wait to see you again next weekend! 🌱💚
