It’s safe to say that for many of us, the dentist is most likely one of the last people you look forward to hanging out with! You’re far from being alone though, with fear of the dentist actually being so common that it’s estimated that 13 – 24% of people experience it. Here are some ways you can calm your nerves for your next dental appointment.

1. Call ahead and discuss any concerns you may have. This allows the team to prepare a customised approach to your appointment; options including Nitrous oxide (happy gas).

2. Minimise stimulants such as coffee and sugar before your appointment to reduce any excessive energy.

3. Organise a hand signal with your dentist so you both are aware of when you need a break during the treatment.

4. Plan an enjoyable activity after your appointment, so you have something positive to look forward to.

Be conscious of the amount of water you potentially are wasting next time you are brushing your teeth. Don't contribute to the statistic and turn off the tap!

International Dental Assistant recognition week! This week in particular we would like to thank all our beautiful dental assistants for the hard work they put in for all patients and for the smooth running of the clinic🦷🤍

Dr. Cecilia is passionate about advocating proper oral hygiene, espically for those of a younger age to ensure long term oral health.

MEET THE TEAM: Wayne is one of our friendly dentists here at Southside, who loves anything adventurous. When he isn't in his scrubs you will find him on a rollercoaster, travelling or at a Korean BBQ buffet!🎢

Check out Cecilia's recent culinary creation she made to celebrate her birthday with us all here in the clinic.... we definitely did not complain😋🎂

If you are unaware if you have a cavity be sure to have regular checkups and cleanings, since that’s when your dentist can locate and treat the cavities.
