Our 2026 School Performance is called The Myths and Legends of Jacana! 🐉

Our students are getting ready to take families on an exciting journey through the mythical land of Jacana, filled with enchanted forests, magical creatures, zombies, ogres, explorers, dragons, fairies, wizards and legendary lands.

Through music, movement and storytelling, each class will bring their own magical land to life on stage.
​

Hi, I’m Anita, I am excited to be a new teacher for Room 5. I have experience working in primary schools and special schools as a relief teacher and education support.
As a new member of Jacana School for Autism, I’m looking forward to getting to know the students, learning alongside with them and contributing to the wonderful school community.

I’m Mehwish, and I moved to Australia last year. I have a background in education and a strong passion for supporting children in their learning, development, and wellbeing. I’m excited to be part of the team at Jacana School for Autism, where I look forward to learning from others, building meaningful connections and contributing to a supportive and inclusive school community.

Dear Parents, Carers and Families,

In correspondence from the Australian Education Union, '79% of school members have voted to accept the state government’s 10 August 2026 VGSA offer, with 89% of eligible members participating in our union’s democratic decision-making process'. As a result, we wish to advise our parents/carers that the potential AEU Strike Day of Action to be held on this Wednesday, 19th August will not be going ahead. Jacana School for Autism will be operating as usual.
