This week has had a softer feel, milder days, scattered rain and just enough moisture to freshen things up without slowing the garden down. You can really sense the season starting to turn. With only a couple of weeks until Spring, it's a great time to tidy tired spots, refresh gardens beds and enjoy the last of the winter colour before the real growth kicks in.

We've had a run of milder days this week, with patchy rain drifting through and the air feeling a little less winter sharp. It's that in-between stretch where everything is damp, soft and quietly resetting.

Spring isn't far away now, only a few weeks to go and you can see gardens starting to respond. Colour is holding well, evergreens are pushing fresh tips and late winter favourites are still putting on a show.

There's no denying it, winter has truly arrived in Melbourne! We woke up to our very first proper frost of the season. The nursery was a crisp and icy wonderland this morning 🥶 ❄️

It's a great time to plant deciduous trees while they're resting in dormancy e.g. Japanese Maples, roses, fruit trees, Crepe Myrtles. There's also plenty of colour that can brighten your garden e.g. Pansy, Viola and Hellebore are stunning and thrive in the cold.
