Connecting Schools, Inspiring Leaders
Today our Grade 5 students welcomed Year 11 student leaders from St John’s Regional College to St Kevin’s for a morning of leadership workshops.
The St John’s leaders led by example, running a range of engaging activities focused on teamwork, communication, problem solving and resilience. Our Grade 5 students were challenged to work together, think creatively, step outside their comfort zones and learn from mistakes. All students were presented with a certificate of completion at the end of the session.
A big thank you to the St John’s leaders for their enthusiasm, encouragement and positive role modelling. We are proud to build strong connections between our school communities and inspire the next generation St Kevin's school leaders.

Your time to share. We want to hear from you about parenting in the digital age.
Parenting can be tricky at the best of times, let alone trying to navigate the digital world our children are growing up in.
Social media, gaming, group chats and online friendships can bring a whole new set of challenges for families. With Australia’s new social media age requirements (16 years +), there is also plenty for parents to navigate and understand.
But there is no one-size-fits-all approach.
💬 We’d love to hear from our parent community.
What strategies have you put in place at home that have helped you navigate and monitor technology and social media use with your children?
Perhaps it’s setting boundaries, monitoring devices, having regular conversations, managing screen time, setting family rules, or something completely different that works for your family.
Share your ideas and strategies in the comments below 👇.
Your experience might be exactly what another parent needs to hear.

Today, our students enjoyed a Buddy Activity focused on the concept of Bucket Filling.
Together, students explored the difference between bucket filling and bucket dipping behaviours and discussed how our words and actions can impact the feelings of others. Working alongside their buddies, students then created a personal pledge about how they can be bucket fillers and contribute to a kinder, more positive school community and world.
It was wonderful to see students engaged in meaningful conversations, supporting one another and reflecting on the small ways we can all help to fill someone else's bucket.
