We are passionate advocates of our company vision ‘enriching your life through the joy of pets’ and our purpose is to provide our clients with ‘peace of mind’ in regards to the health requirements of their pet. To achieve this we have designed protocols based on the services we would insist upon receiving if one of our pets required a visit to a veterinary hospital. Considering our expectations, we perceive the care, expertise and premium standards our pet receives the most imperative part of making a decision when choosing a veterinary hospital. Allow us to provide you with a gold standard in service and ‘peace of mind’ that your pet will be treated like family when entrusted to our care.

🐕‍🦺 WHAT’S EMMETT BEEN UP TO THIS WEEK?

Well… judging by this photo, he has been through some things.

We’re just not entirely sure what those things are. 😂

He’s had food.
He’s had cuddles.
He’s had toys.
He’s had attention from basically every person in the building.

And yet he’s lying on the floor looking like he’s just been personally betrayed by the universe.

Nicole: “Emmett, what’s wrong?”

Emmett: 🥺

Nicole: “Are you sick?”

Emmett: 🥺

Nicole: “Are you hurt?”

Emmett: 🥺

Nicole: “Are you hungry?”

👀

Emmett: 🥺

Nicole: “You literally just ate.”

Emmett: “I’m not comfortable discussing my private medical information.”

Staff member: “He looks sad.”

Nicole: “He’s fine.”

Staff member: “Maybe he needs a cuddle.”

Nicole: “He’s been cuddled for the last three hours.”

Emmett: sighs dramatically

Staff member: “I think he needs another one.”

Nicole: “YOU’RE ALL ENABLING THIS.”

Emmett: continues lying there looking like he’s waiting for the RSPCA to arrive

Meanwhile, the rest of the team are quietly taking bets on what completely imaginary tragedy has occurred. 😂

Current diagnosis:
Severe case of Nobody Is Paying Attention To Me For 4.7 Seconds.

Treatment: Immediate snacks and excessive public sympathy.

Prognosis: Dramatic but excellent. 🖤

🩸🐾 DO YOU KNOW WHAT VET NURSES ACTUALLY DO?

Meet Sam Senior and Sam Junior with gorgeous Izzy, getting her pre-operative bloods ready for her procedure. 🩺🐶

You might think veterinary nurses spend all day cuddling puppies…

And while we absolutely DO that… 😂

There’s a whole lot more happening behind the scenes!

Our skilled veterinary nurses can be involved in:

🩸 Collecting and processing blood samples
💉 Placing IV catheters and administering medications under veterinary direction
🫀 Monitoring patients under anaesthesia
📈 Monitoring vital signs and anaesthetic depth
🩺 Performing patient assessments and pre-operative preparation
🧪 Running in-house diagnostic testing
🏥 Nursing hospitalised and critical patients
🧼 Maintaining infection control and surgical sterility
🔪 Assisting with surgery and surgical nursing
💊 Managing pain relief and post-operative care
🐾 Providing patient handling, comfort and fear-free care
📞 Communicating with and educating clients
🚨 Recognising changes in a patient and alerting the veterinarian

Pre-anaesthetic blood testing can provide important information about a patient's health before anaesthesia, including parameters relating to blood cells and organ function. Results can help the veterinary team identify potential concerns and tailor anaesthetic and nursing care to the individual patient.

So, while Sam Senior and Sam Junior may look like they’re just having a cuddle with Izzy…

There’s actually a whole lot of skill, knowledge and teamwork happening behind that blood draw. 🩸💪

And yes…

They still get to cuddle the patients. ❤️😂

So, did you know just how much veterinary nurses do? 👇

🦁 GARY HAS ENTERED HIS LION ERA 🦁

Please try to remain calm.

Gary has had a little makeover and is now sporting the ultimate lion haircut. ✂️🐈‍⬛

Did it make him look more majestic?

Absolutely.

Did it make him look more intimidating?

Also absolutely.

Does Gary know he now looks like he has a very serious management position at the clinic?

Unfortunately, yes.

He’s currently strutting around like he owns the place.

Which, to be fair…

he probably does. 😂

Gary: “I am not a cat. I am a LION.”

Staff: “Gary, you’re still scared of the vacuum.”

Gary: “REMOVE YOURSELF FROM MY KINGDOM.”

💙 Meet Ripp! 💙

Ripp has recently made the big move down to Griffith all the way from Queensland! 🐶☀️

This handsome boy came in to see us for an allergy check and was an absolute superstar. Such a good, gentle and very handsome boy! 🥰

Welcome to Griffith, Ripp! We hope you’re settling into your new home and enjoying everything our little corner of the world has to offer. 🐾💕

Look at that SMILE! 😍🐶

Beautiful Koro was back to see us for her C5 vaccination and she was clearly very happy to be here! 💉💕

Those gorgeous happy faces make our day. 🥹

Such a good girl, Koro! We hope every vet visit is this easy and comes with plenty of treats and cuddles. 🐾❤️

🥹💗 Jessie’s second vaccination!

Jessie came in to see Dr Hamza for her second puppy vaccination and was an absolute little superstar! 🐾💉

She was such a brave and gentle girl — we’re so proud of her! 🥰

And while we’re admiring this gorgeous girl, it’s a good time for an important reminder…

🚨 PARVO SEASON IS UPON US 🚨

Canine parvovirus is highly contagious and potentially life-threatening, particularly for young puppies who haven’t completed their vaccination course.

As the weather warms up, please take extra care with your puppies:

🐾 Keep vaccinations up to date
🐾 Avoid high-risk areas such as dog parks and communal dog areas until your puppy is fully vaccinated
🐾 Avoid contact with sick or unvaccinated dogs
🐾 Remember that parvovirus can be carried on contaminated surfaces, shoes and hands

⚠️ Lethargy, vomiting, diarrhoea, loss of appetite or bloody diarrhoea in a puppy should never be ignored. If your puppy is unwell, contact your veterinarian promptly.

Jessie is doing her part to stay protected — now let’s help all our puppies do the same. 💕🐶

🚨🐾 OLLIE’S TOWEL TROUBLE! 🐾🚨

Meet Ollie — professional towel eater and part-time hospital patient. 😂

Ollie recently needed an emergency exploratory laparotomy (ex-lap) after deciding that a portion of a towel looked like an acceptable snack. 🤦‍♀️🫣

Thankfully, our surgical team got him sorted and Ollie is now recovering well! 💕🐾

But during his hospital stay, Ollie revealed his true talent…

He had the nurses completely trained. 😂

Ollie simply refused to eat unless he was being cuddled. 🥹💕

No cuddles? ❌
No dinner. ❌
Cuddles provided? ✅
Suddenly starving. 😂🍗

Honestly, we’re not sure whether Ollie was recovering from surgery or running an extremely successful hostage negotiation.

The nurses never stood a chance. 😂🐾💕

🐾🫘 TOE BEANS! 🫘🐾

Because sometimes the most important part of working at a vet clinic is stopping everything to appreciate some premium toe beans. 😍😂

Look at those little jelly beans! 🥹🐾

10/10 beans.
Would squish.

Who else agrees that toe beans make everything better? 🐾💗

Behind every well-run veterinary practice is a Practice Manager holding it all together. 🙌

At Griffith Veterinary Hospital, we know that the work our Practice Managers and management teams do every day is what keeps our clinics running — and our patients cared for. They handle the details so our veterinary teams can focus on what matters most: the animals.

It takes real dedication, and we don't take that for granted.

To our PM's Nicole, Emily, Karlie, Donna, Abbie and Hayley — thank you 🙏

Behind every smooth visit is someone who answered the call — sometimes literally. 📞

Veterinary receptionists do so much more than answer phones. They triage urgent situations, comfort worried pet owners, and set the tone for every single visit. They truly are the face of Griffith Veterinary Hospital.

It takes patience, compassion, and real skill to do this job well — and we see it every day. 💙
