OUR INAUGURAL BOOK WEEK PARADE!
We are so proud of our whole Wiyal community for the amazing effort, creativity and thought that went into bringing favourite book characters to life for our very first Book Week Parade. 🧙‍♂️🦸‍♀️🐛👑

It was wonderful to see our students, staff and families come together to celebrate a shared love of books, stories and reading. The excitement, smiles and incredible costumes made our inaugural parade one to remember!

🧸🚂 LEARNING ABOUT THE PAST THROUGH PLAY! 🪀✨

Earlier this term, our Year 1/2 students had the opportunity to step back in time through a special History incursion exploring toys from the past and present.

Through hands-on experiences with a range of toys, students explored how toys have changed over time, comparing what children played with in the past to the toys we know and enjoy today.

It was a fantastic way to bring our History curriculum to life, encouraging students to ask questions, make comparisons and think about how everyday life has changed over time.
A fun and engaging learning experience for our young historians! 🕰️🧸

🔬🧪 SCIENCE WEEK AT WIYAL! 🧬🚀

We were absolutely blown away by the creativity, curiosity and effort our students put into their Science Expo entries for Science Week 2026. From fascinating experiments and clever investigations to creative models and displays, our students certainly impressed us! 🌟

One of the highlights was watching students make their way through the Expo, exploring each other’s projects and giving their peers “shout-outs” to recognise their hard work, creativity and great ideas. 💡👏

It was then wonderful to welcome our families into the Expo and see our school community enjoying and celebrating the students’ achievements together.

A huge congratulations to all of our young scientists who contributed an entry, and thank you to our families and staff for supporting such a fantastic event.

A huge THANK YOU to our wonderful students, families and staff for making Wiyal Primary School’s inaugural Movie Night such a fantastic success!

It was so special to see our school community come together, relax, connect and enjoy a fun evening together. These are the moments that help build the strong sense of community we are so proud to be creating at Wiyal.

Last week our Year 3/4 students headed off on Wiyal’s very first excursion to the Melbourne Museum! Students had a fantastic day exploring, discovering and bringing their learning to life beyond the classroom.

A wonderful day of learning, curiosity and new experiences – and a special first for Wiyal! 🦖🔍✨

Thank you to the families who joined us for our Family Stand-Up Project Session last week. It was fantastic to see our community come together to learn about how the Stand-Up Project helps students recognise bullying behaviours, support others, and build a safe, respectful and inclusive school.

A special congratulations to our wonderful Year 5 and 6 Stand-Up Project Leaders, who did an amazing job helping present the session. We are so proud of your leadership!

This week, our school community celebrated the very first 100 Days of Learning at Wiyal Primary School!

It was wonderful to see our students, staff and families embrace the occasion with so much enthusiasm, creativity and fun. We are so proud of all that our students have achieved in their first 100 days and can't wait to see what the rest of the year brings.

🌱 Growing a Healthy Future at Wiyal! 🥕🥬

Our students were excited to welcome a Bunnings Community Liaison to Wiyal Primary School to help plant new seedlings in our developing vegetable garden.

Our veggie garden is a fantastic hands-on learning space where students can discover how fruit and vegetables grow, learn about sustainability and caring for the environment!
