Today I had the pleasure of catching up with the two other female Presidents in the MPCA, Leisl Jackson from Baden Powell Cricket Club and Sally Cooper from Mt Eliza Cricket Club 🏏✨

It was a great opportunity to share ideas, talk about the challenges and celebrate the opportunities that come with collaborating with other clubs instead of being in constant competition.

Three different clubs, three different divisions but with many common goals including growing the game for young girls and women, increasing junior participation across the peninsula and creating strong, inclusive clubs where seniors and junior families feel comfortable not only participating but belonging.

It was a great morning of connection and hopefully the start of seeing more women stepping into leadership roles across the MPCA.

A PROUD NIGHT FOR THE BRAVES!

Friday night saw the MPCA celebrate its 60th Anniversary, recognising six decades of cricket, community and the incredible people who have helped shape the association.

A special congratulations to Baden Powell Cricket Club’s own Paul Rhodes, Rhys Elmi and John Pearson, who were recognised in the MPCA’s Teams of the Decade across the 1975/76 - 1984/85 and 2015/16 - 2024/25 eras.

We’d also like to highlight the remarkable achievement for John Pearson, who was also selected in the MPCA Team of the First Half Century (1965-96 - 2014/15) as wicketkeeper. Highlighting an incredible contribution to the association across multiple generations.

An outstanding achievement and a fantastic reflection of the contribution our club has made to MPCA cricket across generations.
