I recently had the honour of speaking at a GP update seminar, which included a comprehensive discussion on metastatic breast cancer.
The seminar, held at Hotel Chadstone in Melbourne, was a well-attended and interactive workshop that featured presentations by esteemed colleagues, including neurosurgeon Dr. Girish Nair from Neuro Axis, who presented on minimally invasive spinal surgery, and radiation oncologist Dr. Neda Haghighi, who discussed a tailored approach to radiation of the spine.
Bone metastasis is a common issue in metastatic breast cancer patients, affecting approximately 60–80%. The spine is the most frequently affected site, followed by the pelvis and ribs.
I would like to express my gratitude to all attendees for their participation, as it will ultimately contribute to a finely tuned team managing our patients' future care.
