This month, we joined the “She Matters” Free Women’s Wellbeing Day at Transit Soup Kitchen in Narre Warren, supporting women experiencing financial hardship and social isolation with a day focused on wellbeing, connection and self-care. ✨

We also connected with students through the Box Hill Institute Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP), sharing information about breast screening and supporting participants to book an appointment.

A big thank you to our community partners, participants and incredible team for helping us make breast screening more accessible to women across Victoria. 💕

You can find our clinic on the first floor of the Healy Wing in St Vincent's Hospital, at 41 Victoria Parade in Fitzroy.

When you walk into the clinic you'll find a big bright welcoming space, and in one of our mammogram rooms we even have some incredible artwork by Aboriginal artist Anjee-Lee Bamblett. ❤️ 🫶

Notice an unusual change to your breasts?

See your doctor as soon as possible.

A breast symptom is any change to the normal look or feel of your breasts.

If you are experiencing breast symptoms, BreastScreen Victoria isn’t suitable. Your doctor can refer you for the appropriate tests, which may include a diagnostic mammogram or an ultrasound.

Remember, not all breast changes are cancer. But it’s important to get any new or unusual changes checked.

Introducing Leah, one of our amazing Nurse Counsellors who has worked with us for 13 years. ♥️

When a client is called to have further tests after a breast screen, they attend one of our assessment clinics. Leah, like many of our other amazing nurses, is there to support clients during this process. Some parts of Leah's role are: ensuring the client understands what's happening, assisting with some of the tests, and answering any questions. 🫶

It doesn't stop there - Leah is there to support the family too. Being called to have further tests may cause concern and uncertainty and one of the most significant parts of the role is to bring care and clarity that our clients and their families.
