Eltham Prostate Cancer Information and Support Group

Thanks to the Eltham Men’s shed for displaying their big Blue Man on Wattletree Road Eltham. It’s there to encourage more men to talk to their GP about being tested for Prostate Cancer. Also to remind everyone that we have a local Support Group in Eltham for men wanting information or have been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer.

Great Xmas dinner this week for many members and partners of our Support Group. Special attendees were Carla the local Prostate Cancer Nurse and her husband Ignatius. Thanks also to the Eltham Hotel and Manager Kate for a nice dinner for two as a door prize and allowing us to use their private room. Merry Christmas everyone and spread the word that our Prostate Cancer Support Group is also fun as we welcome partners to attend.

Keep your eyes out for the massive Blue Man at the Eltham Men’s Shed on Wattletree Road Eltham. He is standing proud to remind men about getting tested for Prostate Cancer and attending the local Eltham Prostate Cancer Information and Support Group.

Great event today where over 100 Prostate Cancer information packs were given to residents in the Eltham Town Square. Note in the blue men on the lawn the white guys. They represent the 4,000 Australian men that die each year from it. Our Group and 29 other Victorian Groups meet once a month in support for the 70.000 Victorian men living with a diagnosis.

The Blue Man is a symbol of Awareness, Support and Strength for anyone going through a Prostate Cancer diagnosis including partners, families and loved ones. He is also a symbol to remind all men to keep on top of their health with having PSA blood test and finally he is there for you to know you are not alone.

Calling all people in the Eltham and Nillumbik area who knows someone living with a Prostate Cancer diagnosis or question. Encourage them to attend our Support Group meeting next Monday night at 7pm in the Eltham Country Fire Authority building, 909 Main Road Eltham. Our group has been going for over 20 years and is a very useful way for information to be shared and given by peers who have lived various journeys. It’s free to attend and has no ongoing obligation to attend.

On Sunday 21st of September group members attended Rosanna Golf Club and spoke to 200 members about Prostate Cancer awareness and the Support Group. They gave out 200 information Packs and 200 Eltham PCSG Blue Man Ball Markers
The Blue Man was on all tables in the Clubhouse along with Blue Man images on the walls. Brochures and posters were also on display

Just a quick reminder that the next meeting of the Eltham Prostate Cancer Information and Support Group will be held this coming Monday evening 18th August 2025 at 7p.m. at the CFA building 909 Main Road Eltham.

We have a guest speaker at this meeting, Mr John Billing, President of the Mending Casts Group who provide retreats for men recovering from all forms of cancer.

Eltham Prostate Cancer Information and Support Group is looking for Men and their family to come along and share their prostate story. In doing this you may just be able to help others on a similar path.
We welcome anyone to come along in a very friendly environment so that we can all support each other and learn from everyone's different story in the hope that we can all make a positive difference to anyone who attends.
