For her fourth Cardiac Challenge, our Cairns Field Officer Abi Gardiner rode 319km from Cairns to Cooktown in memory of her cousin, who sadly passed away at 37 from an undiagnosed heart condition.
With her sister and her team the Cairns Birdwings by her side, Abi helped raise $17,422.
Across the 20th anniversary Australian Retirement Trust Cardiac Challenge, 337 riders raised $553,909 for the Queensland Hospital Foundation.
Every dollar stays in Far North Queensland to buy life-saving cardiac equipment and services.
We are so proud of Abi and the cycling community of Cairns for a remarkable effort.

Congratulations to Alistair Harris, who's officially a qualified electrician!
⚡
After four years, he's passed his Capstone Assessment and wrapped up his UEE30820 Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician.
Alistair spent a lot of his apprenticeship out on the chicken farms around Mount Cotton, keeping the motors, augers and sensors running that heat and cool each shed. 🐔
Turns out that was great preparation for the big final exam!
Major Training's two-week training blocks helped the theory really sink in, which came in handy when it counted.
Our trainers have been cheering him on from his first block to his last, and we can't wait to see where the trade takes him next.

A year ago the Newcastle Knights were holding the wooden spoon, and our Beresfield office was two weeks old. 🏉
Since then, the Knights have fought their way to their first preliminary final since 2013 and Field Officer Alex Bozinovski has put 25,000 kilometres on the Ute, connecting employers with apprentices from Gunnedah to Orange.
Later this afternoon Alex will be cheering on the red and blue with the rest of Newcastle. On Monday morning he'll be heading west again to build more relationships with employers and tailor training plans around their workloads.
Meet the Field Officer who bleeds red and blue.

Our Field Officers chipped in with a hammer instead of a pitching wedge for the Sunshine Coast Master Builders BUSSQ Golf Day.
At Twin Waters Golf Club, golfers were challenged to drive a four-inch nail into a block of timber in the fewest hits possible.
Congratulations to Glenn from i-Build, who took home the $100 Bunnings gift card.
We also ran a guess-how-many competition with a jar full of construction hardware.
Scott from JCO Constructions came closest and took home the $50 Bunnings gift card.
Thank you to Master Builders Queensland and everyone who attended for a great day on the course.
We asked the team if they'd fight someone for us. Everyone said yes... until they found out it was Nev 😂
Nev is our yard man, our fixer, the reason everything on site actually works keeps this whole site running. Nobody's touching Nev.
At Major Training, our UEE30820 Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician runs in smaller class sizes, giving every apprentice more time with their trainer and more hands on practice through each training block.
Smaller cohorts also mean trainers can focus fully on every apprentice, keeping workloads manageable and standards high.
A four-year apprenticeship in electrotechnology is worth looking into. Find out more here: https://tinyurl.com/majortrainingelectrical
