🫵 If you choose to ignore 8 signs displaying a school zone, be prepared to sacrifice your licence. 🫵
On Wednesday 17 June 2026, police from the Greater Dandenong Highway Patrol were out enforcing a school zone speed limit on the Princes Hwy in Noble Park.
Despite providing drivers with an almost excessive amount of signage, police still stopped 17 drivers for exceeding the speed limit within one hour.
This included five drivers who exceeded the 40 KM/H limit by 25 KM/H or more. All of those drivers will now face mandatory suspensions on their licence.
There is no excuse for exceeding the speed limit in school zones, so offending drivers can either obey the limit or face the attention of police who will be regularly monitoring this zone and many others around Greater Dandenong.

As we approach winter, and the sun sets earlier, it is important that those of us going on an evening walk stay safe.
Wearing a high visibility vest helps motorists see you from a much greater distance.
It is a piece of safety equipment used by many industries, including Victoria Police.
They are cheap and effective, and we encourage anyone going for an evening walk to wear one; especially those in rural areas with no lighting.
Thank you to Neighbourhood Watch Eastern Ranges for bringing up this discussion at their recent meeting.
A vehicle rebirthing syndicate allegedly operating across Melbourne has been dismantled, with police seizing 10 vehicles and stolen car parts valued at $1.5 million.
Investigators executed seven search warrants across Keysborough, Carrum Downs and Brookfield on 16 June, uncovering a cache of stolen vehicles and components.
Among the items seized were:
🔹 8 high-end Holden HSVs
🔹 A Jeep Grand Cherokee
🔹 A Toyota LandCruiser
🔹 Numerous parts including engine blocks, transmissions, doors, wheels, fake plates and more
It will be alleged the vehicles were stolen from across Melbourne and potentially interstate, with VIN numbers and engine stamps replaced before the cars were re-registered.
Three men have been charged in relation to the investigation, which remains ongoing.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online anonymously.
