Redland City Council is consulting about proposed changes to animal management local laws. If approved, these changes would restrict keeping of bee hives, chickens and goats according to property areas. Other proposed changes include dog off-leash areas on Coochiemudlo, Redland Bay and some of the southern Moreton Bay islands.

State Planning Policy submission divides Redland City Councillors 23/10/2026

Who would have thought that a draft submission about the State Planning Policy, prepared by Council officers, could be controversial with four councillors wanting to make sure that this document never saw the light of day?

Fortunately, a majority of councillors voted to let the community see what Council officers wrote, and to make a submission in line with the officers’ draft submission.

Redlands2030 has extracted from the meeting minutes the Officers’ draft submission and it's included as a downloadable pdf file in the latest story on the Redlands2030 website.

We suggest that anyone wanting to make a submission about changes to the Planning Policy consider saying that they support the Redland City Council officers’ draft submission.

The deadline for submissions is Monday 26 October.
