Victorians whose personal details were stolen in the Optus breach will be able to replace their driver’s licence online . Victorians will be able to get a new/replacement licence number and the chance to flag their licence record in case of future fraud.

“By flagging records the Department of Transport will prevent any unauthorised changes or access to individual information through the Victorian licence database,” the department said.

Under unsafe2safe, up to 1000 eligible young, regional Victorians will receive a $5000 subsidy to purchase a newer, safer vehicle from a participating dealer.
