Earworx
Earworx is a dedicated professional earwax removal service. Some people have more of a problem with wax build-up than others. Why see us?
Using dry and effective micro-suction technology under direct observation, wax is gently and safely removed by a qualified nurse. Excessive or impacted cerumen is present in one in 10 children, one in 20 adults, and more than one-third of the geriatric and developmentally delayed populations. Ear wax removal is a delicate process and special training is required to perform this procedure. Earworx

Cookies and cream, anyone? πͺ Not quite.
This is what a blocked, itchy ear looked like under the microscope: earwax mixed with debris, showing white fuzzy patches and tiny black dots. Patches like these can be associated with fungal debris in the ear, which is something a healthcare professional should assess.
When Earworx Registered Nurses examine your ears under magnification, they see the ear canal clearly and remove earwax using microsuction. If they notice something that needs a closer look, like this, they will recommend you have it assessed by a healthcare professional.
Blocked or itchy ears? Call us on 1800 327 967 or find your clinic online.π
An itch you cannot scratch is telling you something.
Too much earwax can irritate the canal. So can too little. Cerumen moisturises the delicate skin inside the ear, and cleaning with cotton buds or overusing drops can strip the natural barrier, leaving the skin dry and flaky.
Other causes include eczema, psoriasis, fungal or bacterial infections, allergic reactions to earrings or hair products, and friction from hearing aids and earbuds.
The one thing that may make it worse is scratching. Inserting anything into the ear canal can damage the skin and increase the risk of infection.
If itchiness is persistent or youβre not sure whatβs causing it? Call 1800 327 967.

Do you have blocked ears and think a cotton bud might help? Think again! π
Cotton buds can push wax in deeper, and sometimes you might just end up with this: a cotton bud tip stuck in the ear canal.
For blocked ears, it is best to leave wax removal to a professional. Earworx Registered Nurses remove wax using microsuction, viewing the ear canal under magnification.

MYTH: Smelly earwax always means an ear infection. π
FACT: Not necessarily. Earwax naturally helps protect the ear canal, so a change in smell does not automatically point to an infection. Often, it simply comes down to a build-up of older wax.
If a smell comes with pain, itchiness or discharge, have it checked by a health professional. For suspected wax build-up, Earworx Registered Nurses remove wax using microsuction.
