Mini Maestros

Term 3, Week 7 milestones are here! 🌟 Every week in class, our little Maestros are working on something new — and it's all carefully mapped to their stage of development:

🎵 0s — Tempo changes
👀 1s — Eye tracking and focusing
🎤 2s — Rhyming words and singing
🗺️ 3s — Reading a map
🎼 4s — Interpreting graphic notation

From babies discovering fast and slow, right through to preschoolers reading their very first musical maps — these are the tiny, mighty steps that grow confident, creative little humans. And the best part? It all happens through play. 💛

The science really is music to our ears. 🎶 In a study from the University of Washington's Institute for Learning & Brain Sciences, nine-month-old babies who did just a month of playful, rhythmic music sessions showed stronger brain responses to both music and speech — not only in the hearing part of the brain, but in the region that handles focus and pattern-detection too.
