Some losses carry layers that are difficult to put into words.
Grief. Guilt. Questions. The wish that things could have been different. And for couples who have faced a termination for medical reasons, the experience can feel especially complicated and isolating.
HUG is sharing access to two recorded conversations offering emotional support, Torah perspective, understanding and compassion.
Permission to Grieve; Permission to Heal
Featuring Rav Chaim Aharon Unger and Dr. Norman Blumenthal
When There Is No Choice: Understanding Termination for Medical Reasons — Grief, Compassion and Healing
Featuring Yonina Kaufman, LCSW, PMH-C, MS. ED and Chumi Friedman
Whether this is your own story, the story of someone you love, or you are a professional supporting couples through loss, we hope these conversations offer understanding, validation and a little more space to grieve.
Access information is on the flyer.

Sometimes the voice that hurts us the most is our own.
After loss, infertility, illness, or any life that looks different than the one we imagined, it can be so easy to become our own harshest critic.
"I should be over this."
"I shouldn't feel this way."
"Why can't I handle this better?"
But what if you spoke to yourself the way you would speak to someone you love?
With patience.
With gentleness.
With understanding.
With compassion.
Healing is not just about the words others say to us. It is also about the words we choose to say to ourselves.
You don't have to pretend you're okay.
You don't have to rush your grief.
You don't have to earn kindness.
Offer yourself the same grace you so naturally give to others. Sometimes, that is where healing begins.
💜 If this resonates with you, save this post for the days when you need the reminder.

Acceptance is not the absence of grief.
So often, people tell us to "accept it," as though acceptance is something we choose in a single moment. But when life changes in ways we never wanted or expected—through pregnancy loss, infertility, illness, disability, trauma, or any profound loss—acceptance is rarely immediate.
It is a process of learning to hold two truths at the same time: acknowledging the reality of what is while still grieving what could have been.
There is room for hope. There is room for healing. And there is also room for sadness, anger, disappointment, fear, and confusion. Those emotions are not signs that you're doing it wrong. They are signs that you are human.
Wherever you are in your journey, you don't have to rush your healing. Give yourself permission to move through it at your own pace. 🤍

One of the most common things people hear after a painful experience is:
"You're too sensitive."
But what if we've been asking the wrong person to change?
Maybe the goal isn't to become less sensitive.
Maybe it's to become more thoughtful with our words.
We never know what someone is carrying—a pregnancy loss, infertility, grief, anxiety, or a silent struggle they haven't shared with anyone.
A careless comment may be forgotten by the person who said it, but remembered for years by the person who heard it.
Sensitivity isn't weakness. It's awareness. It's choosing words that comfort instead of wound, validate instead of dismiss, and make people feel seen instead of alone.
Before speaking, ask yourself:
Will my words make this person's burden lighter or heavier?
Let's create a community where people don't have to develop thicker skin because we've learned to speak with gentler hearts. 💙

Every loss is real. Every parent matters. 🤍
During Bereaved Parents Month, we honor every parent whose life has been forever changed by the loss of a baby.
Perinatal loss takes many forms—early pregnancy loss, second trimester loss, stillbirth, termination for medical reasons (TFMR), neonatal loss, and infant loss. While each experience is unique, every loss carries hopes, dreams, and a love that will always remain.
There is no hierarchy of grief. You do not have to justify your pain or compare your story to anyone else's. Your loss matters. Your baby matters. And you matter.
Whether your grief is recent or decades old, whether your loss was seen by many or known only to you, we remember with you today and always.
If this post resonates with you, know that you are not alone. There is a community that sees you, believes your grief, and holds space for your story. 💛

Because our words matter. Use them wisely.

After pregnancy loss, the loudest voice you hear is often your own.
What if, instead of speaking to yourself with blame, judgment, or "what ifs," you spoke to yourself the way you would speak to your closest friend?
"I know you're hurting."
"You did the best you could with the information you had."
"You don't have to carry this alone."
"You deserve the same compassion you so freely give to others."
Healing doesn't begin when the pain disappears. It begins when you stop making yourself face that pain alone.
Be gentle with yourself today. You are worthy of the kindness you would never hesitate to offer someone else. 💜
