We celebrated English Week at OLSH with a book quiz, a writing competition and a celebration of authors. Author Amy Doak, author of books including the Eleanor Jones series and 'What Have They Done to Liza McLean?', gave a presentation to students telling her story of how she became an author, her creative process and why she enjoys writing crime novels. We also recognised two of OLSH’s own published authors – Year 10 student Amelia who has had her verse novel published in the Australian Young Artists and Writer’s program magazine and Year 7 student Chloe who has self-published a novel called Shipwreck Cove.
To wrap up English Week, the winners of the CBCA Reading competition were announced – Seraphina R, Abigail C and Maggie B – and we also announced the winner of the English Week Gothic Writing Competition, Kara S.
These activities have certainly given us the encouragement to write more and read more, so thank you to our English and Library staff for creating these opportunities.

All the best to our students performing in the opening night of Puffs tonight, our senior production presented in partnership with De La Salle College. We are sure it will be a fabulous production and a wonderful reflection of the many months of hard work and rehearsals that have gone into bringing it to the stage. We wish everyone involved a fantastic opening night!

Today we remember Mother Marie Louise Hartzer on her birthday. Marie Louise was our first Superior General who faithfully passed on Jules Chevalier's charism and spirituality to the sisters. She saw the congregation expand from Europe to the Pacific, becoming a truly international congregation. May we be inspired by her life of dedication and remember her words ‘Above all be very kind and considerate to each other…Have a great spirit of gratitude.’

Congratulations to our Aerobics teams who completed in the CGSAV Aerobics competition at OLMC in Heidelberg. The newly formed "A Team" in the Senior division continued to dominate, winning the A division. In Senior B, the team performed a solid routine to take out 2nd place, and in a very large Junior B division, our 'trio' came 3rd. Our aerobics athletes did a fabulous job of supporting each other on stage, particularly when synchronising the O-L-S-H chant to the beat of the music! Well done to all involved!
