The incredible Aradale Ghost Tours - Ararat Lunatic Asylum has had to close due to concerns over upkeep and I'm so sad for all those affected, the wonderful tour guides and operators who no longer have an income, the entire tourism and hospitality industry in Ararat that's just taken a massive hit.
Aradale is such an important piece of Australia's history and advancements in mental health care that we can't afford to lose!!
My fingers are crossed that those responsible for the neglect of these beautiful historic buildings can get it together and get the much needed repairs sorted soon.

I had the absolute privilege of not only attending one of their incredibly creepy, eye opening ghost tours but also being part of a private photo shoot/promo day where staff generously gave permission and their time to open up the asylum during the day for the team at Nightmare Active in 2025.

I truly hope the issues that the crew behind the incredible Aradale experiences get the answers and action they are desperately needing from those in a position of power and decision making capacity soon!

We are devastated to announce that Aradale Asylum has been closed due to concerns relating to it's upkeep. We have, and will continue to, advocate for the maintenance of the heritage site. This is a loss for our guides. Our community. Our business partners. Our families. Our friends.... We won't give up, we've been through this before and survived 15 years of fighting to keep the asylum alive. We have suspended all bookings and will begin to process refunds as the situation develops..We appreciate your support during this time. Please share, like and comment to spread the word.

Back to the day job tomorrow after almost a week and a half off work. (YAY!) Still not at 100% but no broken bones, just tendon and ligament damage and I'm now waiting on a public Orthopaedic specialist waitlist (that could take a while) to fix and to stop them from getting worse.🤞
