I’m sitting outside with my morning coffee and felt compelled to write this.

I’m Bendigo born and bred, and I love this town the people, the small businesses, the way we show up for each other.

But lately we’ve seen too many local businesses close their doors, and it’s a reminder of how important it is to support the businesses that support our community. Bendigo is full of incredible small businesses, butcher shops, bakeries, cafés, clothing stores and so many familyrun places that give back through clubs, kinders, raffles and community events.

If you’ve got a favourite local spot, leave them a review, tell your friends, and keep choosing them. Word of mouth is still the best advertising, but it only works when we back it up. We all need connection so walk back into a store, say hi, and when you can, make a purchase. Every single sale truly matters.
