Say hello to Rod! ⚓
Rod joined the Whitsunday Maritime Training Centre at the beginning of 2026 and brings a wealth of experience to the team, having previously established and developed a Maritime Academy right here in the Whitsundays.
Whether you’re completing your Boat Safe licence, First Aid, maritime skill sets or working towards a Certificate IV qualification, there’s a good chance you’ll find Rod sharing his knowledge and helping you build confidence on the water.
His favourite part of the job? Watching students grow, develop new skills, and achieve their goals. And after a successful course, nothing beats kicking back with a cold drink at the Whitsunday Sailing Club while soaking up those waterfront views. 🍻🌊
When he’s not in the classroom, Rod is exactly where you’d expect him to be... out on the water! Whether it’s boating, sailing, fishing, scuba diving, exploring the islands or enjoying a reef sleepover with family and friends, he’s making the most of everything the Whitsundays has to offer. ⛵🐠
Be sure to say hi if you see Rod around the Training Centre!
