After 16 years of wedding mornings, these are the little things that make the biggest difference.

Steam everyone’s dresses the day before. Steam and freshly finished hair and makeup are not friends! Wedding mornings fly by, and this is one less thing to think about.

If you’ve organised a special gift or letter for the bride, give it to her before hair and makeup begins. It gives you all a quiet moment together before the morning gets busy, and gets the tears (mostly) all done before makeup.

Keep the bride hydrated, fed and topped up with snacks. It’s amazing how often she forgets.

Be the question catcher. Suppliers, family members and guests will naturally gravitate towards the bride. If you can gently intercept a few questions, she gets to actually enjoy being in the makeup chair. It also means I can give her my very best work without too much distraction.

Keep the energy light. Fire up Spotify, laugh, pop the champagne and soak it all in. The morning goes by in a heartbeat, so make it fun, relaxed, and full of good memories.
