There’s a chance of thunderstorms on Saturday 5 September.

Are you storm ready?

Spring has sprung! 🌸

Now is the perfect time to prepare for storms ahead of the Higher Risk Weather Season which starts on 5 October this year.

Get ahead of the season by:
🧹 Cleaning your gutters, downpipes and drains.
✂️ Trimming back trees and branches around your property.
🎒 Getting your emergency kit ready.
🪢 Having materials handy to tie down loose outdoor items if it gets windy.
📱 Updating your VicEmergency app to the latest version and setting up a watch zone.

Until Sunday 6 September, join Windy Hill Fitness Centre for $299 for a 6 month membership and support our unit.

If you nominate VICSES Essendon, BlueFit will donate $100 to our unit to support annual operating costs.

While you're out and about this weekend, check out a new sculpture by the Maribyrnong river.

Babanh-u laangi-yuuyuk-a (Mother of Pearl) is a playable sculpture by Edwina Green commissioned through a recovery grant after the flood in 2022. Thank you Moonee Valley City Council for inviting us to the launch on Thursday as part of Reconciliation Week.

It represents the turbulence and waves of water and the emotions connected to the flood - as well as calm and beauty.

These big kids had a lot of fun playing on it on Thursday! Find it next to The Boathouse cafe in Moonee Ponds when you're ready for your own fun!

As draws to a close, we’d like to highlight a very special volunteer at VICSES Essendon Unit; Brian Lynch.

If you’ve met Brian, at community event, as a member of the unit, or if he turned up to help when you needed it, let us know!
