Lebanese sustainable social enterprise that creates luxury handcrafted bags that empower both the women who make them and those who wear them since 2000.
The brand was created in the year 2000 when Sarah Beydoun fashioned a way to give back to her community in a creative manner. She invested in prisoner and underprivileged women’s savoir-faire in hand embroidering and hand-beading, bringing Middle Eastern craft to rest of the world. Today, the brand employs over 200 artisans from various backgrounds all-over Lebanon. Sarah and Malak Beydoun are partners in the creative direction of the brand; always keeping it fresh, innovative and sometimes sprinkling in touches of nostalgia. People are being spotted wearing Sarah’s Bag from Tokyo to Caracas as the brand’s global presence is constantly growing. Our bags are sported by the likes of Queen Rania of Jordan, Amal Clooney and Leandra Medine.

The Bronze Murex Clutch draws inspiration from the legendary purple “Ourjouan”, a dye extracted by the Phoenicians from the Murex shell.
They used it to color their garments, creating a hue so distinctive that, when their ships arrived on distant shores, people immediately recognized that the Phoenicians had landed.

As part of Modern Heirlooms, we went back to some of our favourite pieces from the archives, including the Lou Lou bag, handcrafted with hundreds of freshwater pearls.
In its first version, it came with our signature Ch*****ne clasp. This time, we felt like giving it a different spirit, replacing it with the Murex shell found on the shores of Tyre in South Lebanon. A tribute to this precious land and what it holds in our heart.
